Community Ministry

Partnership with McCleery Elementary School

We are working closely with McCleery to meet their needs. In the past we have done yardwork, painted the library and foyer, donated clothing items, and volunteered at various school events. We believe that working with McCleery is a wonderful way to have a presence in our community and to have a great impact.

Most recently we organized and put on a school fun fair to raise money for the school, organized the holiday shop for students, and bought new electric pencil sharpeners for each of the teachers as a Christmas gift.

Partnership with Lifespring and Wayside Cross

We are working with Lifespring and Wayside Cross to meet their needs. In the past we have assembled and donated gifts for the children there, painted offices, and held workshops. We also sponsored a zoo trip in the summer of 2011 for the moms and their kids.  We are always looking for more creative ways to get involved with the people there.

Community Paper Recycling Program

We are host to an Abitibi Paper Retriever Bin! The bright yellow and green bin located in our parking lot collects recyclable paper products such as school papers, copy paper, catalogs, newspapers, magazines, mail, envelopes, and shredded paper. The paper is recycled and used to make new newspapers, magazines, and catalogs. Plus, our church is paid for each ton of paper we collect.

While at church, please take some time to place unwanted paper and bulletins into the white bins located at the back of the sanctuary, in the office, and around the church.

Please Note: We also take all your recyclable paper from home! Simply drop off your paper in the bin located in our parking lot. You can even place your recyclable paper in a paper grocery bag and drop it in the bin.

Please do not place cardboard, paperboard, or tissue products in the bin. Also, plastics and glass are not permitted.

As of January 1, 2011, we have collected 22.5 tons!

This means we have saved 383 trees from being destroyed. All while earning money for our church. Great job, everyone!
